Umbraco 11 is officially at the end of its life cycle!
Umbraco announced that version 11 of Umbraco would enter its final stages on September 1st 2023, with this version of Umbraco moving in to 'security-only' phase. This meant that Umbraco version 11 would only receive patches for severe security issues.
As of December 1st 2023 Umbraco 11 is officially EOL. Therefore this version will no longer recieve official support, security patches, bug fixes, or functionality updates from Umbraco HQ.
While Umbraco 11 CMS websites will continue to function, the fact that this version is EOL means that the risk of security breaches is increased due to unpatched vulnerabilities.
Migration to a supported version of Umbraco (i.e an active release) is therefore recommended - https://umbraco.com/products/knowledge-center/long-term-support-and-end-of-life/

There are many amazing things about Umbraco 11 which all contributed to why we at Cold Banana used it for so many Umbraco builds before it went into EOL on December 1st 2023. A key reason was that this Umbraco CMS version was a major enhancement of Umbraco's performance and developer experience compared to the versions that preceded it.
Below you can find more reasons for why we loved Umbraco 11!

Umbraco 11 was compatible with the newest Microsoft .NET technology of the time, providing access to the latest performance improvements and allowed our clients to make the most of the features that were included in earlier Umbraco versions.

The Block Grid Editor is a Property Editor that surpassed the traditional Grid Layouts Editor. It uses advanced and future-proof technology to elevate layout and content structure capabilities for editors, thereby enhancing the experiences that developers get.
In comparison to its predecessor, the Grid Layouts Property Editor, the Block Grid Editor offers numerous features and abilities. It uses Element Types and Blocks as the foundational building blocks, resulting in a wider range of readily accessible editors, highly flexible settings, and a large amount of innovative features.

TinyMCE is a JavaScript framework that enables the Rich Text Editor in Umbraco CMS' Backoffice to transform HTML into a user-friendly format for content editors.
The latest version of Umbraco 11 featured an updated and improved version of TinyMCE that delivers superior performance and functionality.
Umbraco relies on ImageSharp for image manipulation, but this dependency has been transformed into a package that comes shipped with Umbraco. This alteration simplifies the process of upgrading to future major versions of ImageSharp independently of the Umbraco version.
This enhancement brings greater flexibility and streamlines maintenance within Umbraco 11+.

An Umbraco 11 website will continue to function after End of Life, but it will no longer receive official support, security patches, bug fixes or functionality updates from Umbraco HQ. Organisations using Umbraco 11 should consider an Umbraco upgrade to a supported version to reduce security risks and ensure access to the latest features Umbraco has to offer.
We provide Umbraco upgrade services to help organisations move from Umbraco 11 to a supported version of the CMS. As an Umbraco Gold Partner with over a decade of experience working with Umbraco, our developers are experts at assessing existing sites, reviewing functionality and integrations, and creating an upgrade plan that supports a smooth transition from outdated Umbraco versions to the latest versions Umbraco has to offer.
Continuing to use Umbraco 11 after End of Life can increase the risk of security vulnerabilities due to the lack of ongoing patches and updates. It can also make future development, maintenance and website changes more challenging as technology requirements continue to evolve.
