Rock Recruitment are a local recruitment agency that has been at the forefront of championing young talent in the Bournemouth and Poole area. The Rock Star Awards were founded in 2012, and have become a celebration of achievement for the younger generation of local talent, across all different sectors.
At Cold Banana, we pride ourselves on being a young and fresh digital agency and naturally were drawn to these awards. We were really excited to hear that our very own .NET Developer Ollie had been selected as a finalist for “IT Star of the Future”, so we dusted off our tux’s and went to support him. The evening saw some phenomenal acts providing the entertainment, and across all categories, the competition seemed fierce, with some very worthy winners announced. So when the “IT Star of the Future” category came up, the atmosphere on our table was electric! As a team, we were all so proud of Ollie to have just got down to the final 3, that when his name was called as the winner we erupted with cheers.
Ollie started his career with us just over a year ago as an apprentice with no former professional experience but had studied computing at A Level. His natural talent and thirst for learning made him a hugely valuable asset to the team, and he has since developed bespoke systems internally and for our clients, whilst also starting to train the next wave of developer apprentices. We are all incredibly proud of Ollie being recognized as an IT Star of the Future, especially as he started with pure, raw talent only just over a year ago.
The night from start to finish was thoroughly enjoyable, and we all felt very privileged to be in the company of such talented, young superstars. Rock Recruitment put on a fabulous event, and we would like to say a massive thank you for creating such an important platform to recognize the stars of the future - and well done Ollie, you rock (pun intended)!
